Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Reports 15% Cargo Growth in April 2026

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) recorded a 15% year-on-year increase in cargo volumes for April 2026, reflecting strong operational momentum at the start of the new financial year.

The company handled a total cargo volume of 43.1 million metric tonnes (MMT) during the month, driven primarily by robust growth in container and dry cargo segments. Both segments registered around 17% year-on-year growth, contributing significantly to the overall performance.

The growth highlights continued demand across key cargo categories and reinforces the company’s position as India’s leading private port operator. However, rail logistics volumes during the month stood at 48,490 TEUs, down year-on-year, indicating some pressure in inland connectivity segments.

The strong April performance follows a robust FY2025–26, during which APSEZ handled over 500 million tonnes of cargo, marking double-digit annual growth and setting a high base for future expansion.
The company’s consistent cargo growth is supported by a diversified cargo mix, capacity expansion, and integrated logistics capabilities, positioning it well to capitalise on rising trade volumes and infrastructure demand in the country.
