Here is the exact step-by-step process for homeowners in 2026:

Portal Registration: Visit the official pmsuryaghar.gov.in portal. You will need your electricity consumer number (found on your latest bill), your mobile number, and your email address.

Feasibility Approval: Submit your application detailing your roof space and desired kW capacity. Your local DISCOM will review this. Do not buy any equipment until this is approved.

Select an Empanelled Vendor: You must use an MNRE-approved vendor. If you use an unregistered local electrician, your subsidy will be automatically rejected.

Installation and Net Metering: Once installed, your vendor will submit the technical details. You then apply for a net meter through the portal, which the DISCOM will physically install to track your grid exports.
