Ceigall India Secures 100 MW BESS Project from PSPCL in Punjab

Ceigall India Limited has been selected to develop a 100 MW standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Punjab, following a tariff-based global competitive bidding process conducted via e-reverse auction by Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL).

The company received formal communication on May 12, 2026, confirming its selection under PSPCL’s Request for Selection (RFS) for large-scale battery storage deployment. The project forms part of the state’s efforts to strengthen grid stability and integrate renewable energy through advanced storage solutions.

Under the awarded contract, Ceigall India will execute the project within an 18-month timeframe, followed by a 12-year operational period. The scope includes setting up the battery storage infrastructure and undertaking long-term operations, maintenance, and energy supply under a Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA).

The agreement is structured as a tariff-based contract, with a fixed tariff of ₹3,44,000 per MW per month. The total project cost is estimated at approximately ₹250 crore.

This domestic contract does not involve any related party transactions, and no promoter or group company of Ceigall India holds any interest in PSPCL, ensuring compliance with regulatory norms outlined by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

The development marks a significant step for Ceigall India in the energy storage segment, aligning with India’s broader push toward grid modernization and renewable energy integration.
