Godawari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL) has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Godawari New Energy Private Limited (GNEPL), has entered into a supply agreement with Shanghai Shenyi Roche Energy Technology Limited for the procurement of Balance of System (BoS) components for a 5 MWh DC block. The agreement is part of the first phase of GNEPL’s 20 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project being developed in Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.
The company disclosed that the agreement, executed on mutually agreed commercial terms, was formally received on April 23, 2026. The scope of supply covers BoS components on a completely knocked down (CKD) basis, marking a critical step in advancing the company’s energy storage manufacturing capabilities.
According to the filing, the partnership is expected to ensure a stable, reliable, and cost-effective supply chain for GNEPL while maintaining consistent quality standards. The agreement is being viewed as a significant milestone in the company’s broader strategy to establish a strong foothold in the battery energy storage segment.
Shanghai Shenyi Roche Energy Technology Limited operates in the field of BESS product design, manufacturing, material supply, and technology support.
