NTPC Limited has announced that its subsidiary, THDC India Limited, has declared the Commercial Operation Date (COD) of the fourth unit (250 MW) of the Tehri Pumped Storage Project (PSP). The unit will commence commercial operations effective on April 12, 2026.
With the commissioning of this unit, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Group has reached 89,378 MW, while its commercial capacity now stands at 88,298 MW. This milestone marks a significant addition to the company’s hydro and pumped storage portfolio, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening grid stability and supporting renewable energy integration.
The disclosure was made in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, and was submitted to both the BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited.
THDC India Limited’s Tehri PSP, with a total planned capacity of 1,000 MW (4×250 MW), is a key project aimed at enhancing energy storage capabilities and addressing peak power demand efficiently. The commissioning of the final unit signifies the full operationalization of the project.
