NTPC Limited Unit-2 of Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited Commences Operations

NTPC Limited has announced the successful completion of the trial operation of Unit-2 of its subsidiary, Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL). The 800 MW unit has now been integrated into the company’s installed capacity, taking the total installed capacity of the NTPC Group to 90,668 MW.

The 800 MW Unit-2 of PVUNL has officially completed its trial run operations after meeting all required performance standards and technical approvals. With this milestone, the unit has been successfully brought into commercial integration within NTPC’s generation portfolio.

The commissioning marks a key advancement in the ongoing development of the Patratu power project, reflecting the steady progress of NTPC Limited in strengthening its generation infrastructure.

The addition of this unit further enhances the group’s overall power generation capability. With the inclusion of Unit-2, NTPC Limited continues to expand its operational base in line with growing electricity demand across the country.

Following this development, the NTPC Group’s total installed capacity now stands at 90,668 MW, reinforcing its position as a major player in India’s power sector and underlining its continued focus on capacity expansion and energy security.
