Prologis Commences 1.1 Million Sq Ft Logistics Park in North Chennai

Global logistics real estate developer Prologis has commenced development of a 1.1 million sq ft logistics park in North Chennai, marking a significant expansion of its footprint in India’s industrial and warehousing sector.

The project is strategically located in the northern part of Chennai, a region that has emerged as a key logistics and manufacturing hub due to its proximity to major ports, industrial corridors, and strong connectivity to national highways. The development is aimed at catering to growing demand from sectors such as e-commerce, third-party logistics (3PL), manufacturing, and retail.

Designed as a Grade-A logistics facility, the park will incorporate modern infrastructure, efficient layout planning, and advanced warehousing specifications to support large-scale operations. The development is also expected to integrate sustainable building practices, aligning with Prologis’ global focus on environmentally responsible logistics infrastructure.

The new logistics park is anticipated to enhance supply chain efficiency in the region by providing high-quality storage and distribution space, enabling faster movement of goods and reducing turnaround times for businesses operating in and around Chennai.

This development reflects the continued growth of India’s logistics sector, driven by rising consumption, expansion of organised retail, and increasing demand for modern warehousing solutions, particularly in key industrial corridors like North Chennai.
