BHEL Signs Technology Collaboration Agreement with South Korea’s E2S for Excitation Systems

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has entered into a strategic Technology Collaboration Agreement (TCA) with South Korea’s E2S Company Limited.

The agreement focuses on both Static Excitation Systems (SEE) and Brushless Excitation Systems (AVR), marking an international collaboration aimed at strengthening BHEL’s technological capabilities in the power equipment segment.

According to the company, the TCA will enable BHEL to design, engineer, manufacture, install, commission, test, service, retrofit, and market excitation systems across India as well as in overseas markets. The financial terms and specific conditions of the agreement remain confidential.

BHEL clarified that the transaction does not fall under related party transactions, and no promoter or group company has any interest in the partner entity.

The collaboration is expected to enhance BHEL’s competitive positioning in the excitation systems segment for synchronous machines. It will also support the company in expanding its footprint in both domestic and international markets.

Furthermore, the agreement aligns with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative by strengthening indigenous manufacturing capabilities and technological self-reliance in critical power sector components.
