H.G. Infra Engineering Limited has secured a major highway construction order worth ₹3,931.11 crore from Welspun Enterprises Limited for the development of a six-lane highway corridor in Maharashtra, significantly strengthening the company’s infrastructure order book.
The project involves the construction of a six-lane, partially elevated highway corridor along with the improvement of the existing road stretch on the Pune–Shirur section of NH-753F in Maharashtra. The corridor will cover a minimum design length of approximately 53.40 kilometres, extending from Km 10+600 to Km 64+000.
According to the company, the project has been awarded on an item-rate basis and is scheduled to be executed within a period of 36 months. The contract was formally awarded through a Letter of Award (LoA) issued by Welspun Enterprises.
The project is expected to play an important role in improving regional connectivity between Pune and surrounding industrial and logistics corridors while supporting rising traffic movement across western Maharashtra. The partially elevated highway sections are aimed at easing congestion and improving traffic flow efficiency on one of the region’s key transport routes.
Following the announcement, shares of H.G. Infra Engineering Limited witnessed positive market movement as investors reacted to the large order win, which is considered significant relative to the company’s existing project pipeline and market capitalisation.
Industry analysts noted that the new contract further strengthens HG Infra’s presence in India’s highways and EPC sector at a time when the government continues to accelerate investments in transport infrastructure under programmes such as Bharatmala Pariyojana and PM Gati Shakti. India has seen rising activity in highway expansion, economic corridors, expressways, and logistics connectivity projects over the past few years.
H.G. Infra Engineering Limited is primarily engaged in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services across roads, highways, bridges, railways, metro infrastructure, and civil construction projects. The company has been actively expanding its project portfolio through large-scale transportation and urban infrastructure contracts across multiple states.
The latest order also adds to the company’s recent project wins in railway, metro, and urban infrastructure segments, reflecting continued momentum in infrastructure spending and project execution across India’s construction sector.
