MNRE Introduces Fee Framework for ALMM Wind and Component Listings

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has notified a fee structure for the inclusion and updation of wind turbine models and their components under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), marking another step toward strengthening regulatory oversight in India’s wind energy sector.

As per the notification, the fee will be applicable for manufacturers seeking enlistment or updates under both ALMM-Wind and the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers for Wind Turbine Components (ALMM-WTC). This move is aimed at streamlining the application process while ensuring that only compliant and quality-certified models are approved for deployment across projects.

The introduction of a structured fee mechanism is expected to bring greater clarity and uniformity to the enlistment process, while also supporting the administrative and evaluation framework required for maintaining these lists. The ALMM framework plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and standardization of wind turbine systems deployed in the country.

The notification is also aligned with the government’s broader push to promote domestic manufacturing and quality assurance within the renewable energy ecosystem. By formalizing the fee structure, MNRE aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in the approval process, thereby supporting the growth of a robust and self-reliant wind energy sector in India.
