Yanmar Launches SV10 Compact Mini Excavator for Tight-Space Applications

Yanmar has introduced its latest SV10 compact mini excavator, targeting the fast-growing 0–2 tonne equipment segment, with a strong focus on compactness, precision, and versatility for urban and confined job sites.

The newly launched SV10 is designed specifically for space-restricted environments, such as indoor construction, urban infrastructure projects, landscaping, and utility work. With a minimum width of just 740 mm, the machine is capable of passing through standard doorways, making it ideal for operations where access is limited.

A key feature of the excavator is its variable undercarriage, which can be expanded up to 990 mm to provide enhanced stability during operation. This flexibility allows operators to easily adapt the machine to different site conditions without compromising performance.

Despite its compact size, the SV10 delivers reliable performance, powered by a Yanmar 3TNV70 engine producing 9.2 kW, along with digging forces of 7.6 kN (bucket) and 5.2 kN (arm). The machine offers a maximum digging depth of around 1.8 metres, making it suitable for a wide range of light excavation tasks.

The excavator also features a short swing radius and a 60-degree boom swing, enabling precise operation in tight working conditions. Its lightweight design (approximately 1,055–1,180 kg) ensures easy transport between job sites and quick deployment, enhancing operational efficiency for contractors and rental fleets.

From an operator perspective, Yanmar has focused on ease of use and ergonomics, incorporating simplified controls and improved cabin layout to support both experienced operators and first-time users, particularly in rental environments.

Additionally, the machine supports multiple attachments, allowing it to handle diverse applications such as trenching, demolition, and landscaping, thereby increasing utilisation across projects.

The launch comes at a time when the compact equipment segment is witnessing strong demand, driven by urbanisation, infrastructure upgrades, and the need for highly manoeuvrable machines. With the SV10, Yanmar aims to strengthen its presence in this segment by offering a solution that combines compact design, operational flexibility, and low cost of ownership.
